Impact travel is a form of more conscious travel focused not only on experiencing new places and cultures, but leaving a positive impact wherever you go. People achieve this in various ways such as contributing to local nonprofits, volunteering during their visits, or even just taking public transport to minimize carbon emissions! No step is too small to start making a difference.
How Does Sahara International Provide Impact Travel?
Each trip you book with Sahara International has key impact focuses – offsetting carbon emissions produced by our travelers, contributing to local development, and partnering with companies & organizations who share our values. We work with reforestation organizations to plant enough trees every trip to completely offset our emissions. Every trip is also paired with specific nonprofit and/or impact projects which you contribute to through booking with us. 20% of every booking is donated to local organizations and part of your trip includes a visit to learn about their work and see how your funds are being used. Some projects we are currently contributing to include supporting the indigenous BriBri people build sustainable income and the development of local schools in Costa Rica. What Does A Trip With Sahara International Look Like?
Sahara International provides upscale impact travel experiences. We focus on creating a comfortable, exciting, and immersive experience. Trips include upscale accommodations, meals with highly rated restaurants or private chefs, private transportation, and tours based on traveler interest. Each trip also includes a reforestation activity to off-set carbon emissions generated from trips within the country as well as an impact visit to local organizations working towards sustainable development. 20% of each booking is donated towards these organizations and you will get to learn about their work and see how your contribution is being used.

If you would like to create a custom impact trip to a destination of your choosing, please contact us. Sahara International can arrange private trips based on your preferences and budget, however, we require at least 1 impact visit during your travel.
